Nationwide Fencing were very proud to be involved in the successful installation of over 2000 metres of high security perimeter fencing at the new 1.1 million sq ft, £100m logistics facility for Amazon in Doncaster.
Measuring 0.5 kilometres in length, the size equivalent of 14 football pitches, the warehouse facility is located on Verdion’s 6 million sq ft iPort logistics development which is a strategic rail freight interchange providing services with continental gauge clearance to all major UK ports and the Channel Tunnel.
The installation was one of the largest and most complex undertaken by Nationwide to date, with the majority of the work taking place during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the additional challenges posed by strict social distancing rules the additional covid compliant control measures and procedures, Nationwide’s site team completed the install with no delay to the original programme and without compromise of quality.
Consisting of a super heavy duty double mesh SR2 rated security mesh system by CLD, the bottom of which was bolted down to a continuous 600mm wide concrete anti-dig sill, formed and installed by our skilled installation team. The fencing was finished with a 3 row barb wire hostile topping for increased security.
